Does Conman Reyland Have a Conman Friend?

We have to say these inventors are sharp and know their stuff. It's not about venting, or beating a dead horse. It's about making the inventing industry a little safer for new inventors coming in. Seasoned inventors won't fall for these guys but it's not seasoned inventors we're all worried about. Why expose Reyland and his dirty little friends? Because it's what we all should be doing, looking out for one another and making the statement...not in MY community! Good job guys!

HUTTON JOVAN PULITZER SCAM { B U S T E D !!!! }

Well I thought something was up. It was funny that someone would suddenly appear saying why they joined the group, instead of just joining. I also found it odd that our new 4 members were Roger Brown { which I'm not saying had anything to do with it } and Hutton from Texas and the other 2 from Texas. Then he post how wonderful he is at inventing. Then he targets my discussions. Well you all have been scammed by Mark Reyland, why Mark. The like on his comment was from Texas, Hutton is from Texas, and Hutton's message was STOP THE PUKE. Clearly to disrupt the BBQ. And as I commented, I knew sooner than later he would provoke me in to a confirmation about it. Add it all up and you know how Tania feels now. Carolyn This is the leader of your UIA, how do you feel now. Brian, Luminita, you were almost scammed by him. Google him under scams with his name and you will see a long list to view. Can I prove it was Mark that put him up to this, NO, but it is more likely than not. Also Troy did some research, I will let him have the honors of telling you what he found. This is why I do this, scams, to protect you and me. I agree that this back and fourth name calling is bull, but its necessary to expose these scams for what they are. Now that this guy got in , Im going to make the group private. I will google everyone from this point on. Come on Mark do you think that I'm that stupid. Admit it, it stings just a little !!!

J. Jovan Philyaw reinvents himself again
() By Eric Celeste Thursday, Apr 10 2003
A few years ago, we told you about Dallas' own Music Man, J. Jovan Philyaw ("Goodbye Kitty," June 6, 2001), the man behind the CueCat, Net Talk Live!, Tripledge Wipers and other testaments to his con-artistry. Now, Jovan has reinvented himself again--and this time, Buzz must say, he's really outdone himself, in the same entertainingly psycho way that Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf outdoes himself with each new press conference. ("There are no tanks. Oh, those tanks, the ones behind me? We have those tanks surrounded.")

Jovan is no longer Jovan. Now he's J. Hutton Pulitzer. Does Mr. Pulitzer have anything to do with the recently announced Pulitzer Prizes? No. What does Mr. Pulitzer do? Not sure. Read his Web site (www.jhuttonpulitzer.com) and see if you can figure it out. When Dmagazine tried to find out, mean ol' JHP just swore at the mag.

Buzz, however, is confident that there are two things we know for sure about JHP. First, we know that he's selling his crystals. What crystals, you ask? The ones that make up the "Pulitzer Collection" (www.pulitzercollection.com)--a.k.a., a coupla hunks of mineral that used to adorn his offices at Digital Convergence Corp., the company that brought you the CueCat and helped send its primary investor, The Dallas Morning News, into a PR nightmare.

The second thing we know about JHP is why he's selling these objects of "powerful spiritual significance," as he puts it. That's because even though, according to his Web site, the Pulitzer Collection "represents Gods' [sic] devine [double sic] communication of Himself and beauty to humanity," the Lord ain't been so good to Jovan's pocketbook lately. For example, Digital Convergence last year filed for Chapter 7 protection from creditors, meaning DCC's remaining assets could be liquidated to pay the bills.

Apparently shielded from that secular action were these magnificent crystals, which were created when "70 million years ago, God touched the earth," JHP notes. (Odd, since you'd think God would have done so when the earth was created some 4.6 billion years ago, but, hey, Buzz ain't no theologian.) If you would like to purchase the Pulitzer Collection--to channel its incredible huckster power, to ward off gargoyles, to simply use as a paperweight--you can do so on the Web site. Buzz opens the bidding at $37.5 million...oh, wait, that's how much CueCat cost the Morning News. Oh, dear. Now Buzz is confused.

john YoungWhere They Are Now
By: Fast CompanyMarch 1, 2004
Fast Company readers asked us to help track down once-prominent business leaders and innovators who have largely fallen off the business radar. Here's what the Fast Company team discovered about the now-old New Economy luminaries.

J. Jovan Philyaw

Then: Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Digital:Convergence Corp.

Now: What do you do once you've bilked companies such as the Belo Corp., Radio Shack, Young & Rubicam, and Coca-Cola of investments between $10 million and $37.5 million for a product that flops? You change your name. Philyaw, the masterful pitchman between the CueCat, a cutely named handheld barcode scanner that was supposed to bridge print media and the Web, apparently now does business under the name J. Hutton Pulitzer -- or the one-word moniker "Jovan." Operating J. Hutton Pulitzer and Co. out of Dallas, the inventor of what has been decried as "one of the most ridiculed products of the Internet era," now specializes in the "development of unique intellectual property." Such as? Bottled rainwater. Crystals. And a forthcoming book entitled Generational Curses. Will Jovan be foiled again? Only time will tell.

Peter DunnExcellent work John I knew that there was something strange about the guy..His photo is creepy and the way he abused you out of the blue really got me thinking. Talk about arriving on the scene beating his chest screaming out listen to me was weird..People like that are just full of themselves or whoever’s ego that he possess at the time
Troy Robison
Troy RobisonJohn,

I’m not really sure what to say about your findings. All I can say is if you go to freepatentsonline.com and do a patent applications search on (J. Hutton Pulitzer) you will find there are 48 "Published" applications. 46 out of 48 were published in 2006; the other 2 were in 2007.

I looked at all of them then decided to search “patents only” and didn’t find any that were issued. So I decided I need to go check a few of the applications in the USPTO Patent Pair files. After checking out 4 to 5 I decided there was something very wrong because everyone of the applications I looked at indicated the published applications went abandoned due to “Failure to respond to office actions” to the USPTO.

After checking out all 48 applications all of them had been abandoned due to not responding to office actions to the USPTO. What that means John is there are NO patents that were issued to J, Hutton Pulitzer that are tied to the 48 apps.

I also found it strange in the USPTO Pair “File Wrapper” there was files that shown Notification of withdrawal of Attorney (Power of Attorney) was transferred back to J.Hutton Pulitzer with 2 different TEXAS addresses in all the apps. One in Frisco and the other in Addison Texas There were files indicating a change of address also, and then when the USPTO mailed the abandoned letter to Hutton it was returned to the USPTO Undelivered.

Searching Jeffry Jovan Philyaw patents or applications will produce some in his name alone. Some will show David Kent Mathews from Carrollton, TX as co-inventor also. With the Assignee listed as Digital Convergence Corporation in Dallas Texas.

(If) the Hutton person you’re confronting is the same person as the applications I located then yes there is a problem with his identity and claims.

and it looks like Roger Brown is just getting on everyone's nerves as usual with his constant whining and apparent need for attention. We think Derek Pater has it right when he calls Roger at playing decoy to move the attention away from Reyland....

john Young Roger,

I have no problem having Gizmo answer it. If you want to start a new discussion fine with me. But this thread is done. Everyone is sick of this crap and so am I. I understand you want him to say it ! But Ive already said his claims are baseless !

What do you want, should we start this crap over again. Lets ask the members ?

Start a discussion and I will stand by my claims for you, or if you really want to take Hutton and Brian's advice let it go! Seems when It comes to Mark you want it over, but not when it comes to Gizmo you want the bitchfest! Perhaps I should change the name of the group to { Inventors for American Entertainment }. Its up to you Gizmo, One last post to show proof about Roger or say you don't have it, then its over. Roger This was about Mark, no one here ever saw anything about you other than my suggesting you have an interest in the UIA. You said publicly NO so my claims are baseless

I really didn't see any claims Gizmo had about you other than that here!

THE VOTE STARTS NOW !!!! We can get in to your claims later, Don't try to delay the vote. EVERYONE PLEASE VOTE,,,,,, NOW I NEED YOUR HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

john

We agree. Other than Troy's insinuation that Roger was looking for a position in the UIA, we have not seen any accusations made by him against Roger. We also insinuated the same thing. Guess Roger Brown really wants everyone to understand he does not want to be part of the UIA. We don't blame him really.

Linkedin Gone Wild!

http://www.linkedin.com/groups/MARK-REYLAND-BBQ-INVENTIONLAND-Mark-4102007.S.78984109?view=&gid=4102007&type=member&item=78984109&trk=NUS_DISC_Q-ttle

The surprise is it looks like inventor Roger Brown may have been aiding Reyland in the doctoring of emails.
The email Reyland posted was proven false and as Troy Robison states, only one of two things could have happened.
1. Roger didn't forward the entire email to Reyland and wanted Reyland to believe it was an attack on him.
OR
2. Roger forwarded the entire email to Reyland but Reyland only posted a portion of it to manipulate people into thinking what he wanted them to think.

We have no idea which is the case, but that's for Brown and Reyland to figure out. If Roger Brown is helping Mark Reyland to deceive inventors and business professionals then should he be allowed to enter the UIA like Reyland wants? Why is Reyland still even part of the UIA? We recieve emails all the time giving us suggestions of why Mark Reyland still sits with the UIA but we're not going to post them. Let's just say people are calling Reyland "shark food". We can almost believe it because in our opinion, any statements of it being intelligence, success or experience would be silly at this point.

Looks like Derek, John & Troy are not allowing Mark to sling mud and fasle accusations just to run away like he normally does!

***** Roger Brown has publicly stated that he will not accept any position with the UIA*****

John you wrote “I ask you this: will you accept a seat at the UIA if offered in the NEAR future. You can totally discredit Troys claims by publicly saying NO on the record here.”

The answer is NO. I don’t have the time it would require to dedicate to any of those UIA positions. As I have repeatedly stated I have not been approached by anyone at the UIA, including Mark, about such a position.

***********************
Although we believe Troy was more insinuating Roger may be awaiting a position within the UIA, we can now say it will not happen according to Roger Brown.
What does this mean? For one, it means we will no longer think Roger is defending Reyland and helping Reyland lie to inventors because he was offered a position within the UIA.

Maybe Troy was hoping, like we were, there was a logical explanation for Roger's recent behavior.

Reyland Doesn't Want It to End

Seeing as Mark Reyland is STILL being unfair to inventors, he obviously does not want any of this to end. Does he love drama to keep him entertained; or does he simply enjoy breaking laws and daring people to a challenge. Whatever the reason, it doesn`t matter. The trail is endless and we`ll keep walking down it until he stops denying what he did, comes clean about his biography and faces what he needs to face. By the way, we know who created his bio for him and they did so before knowing he was a conman.

Following the link, you can see where the inventor managed to get her rights back on her product.
www.adealwithmarkreyland.blogspot.com Mark then appeared to make his company website, www.Obviousideasllc.com require a password to enter. There are always ways around everything. Going through the fulfillment place he uses, Karen Carson Creations, we easily saw his company website where he still shows Ba'noodle. It was months ago when mark Reyland's company offered the letter to the inventor and stated they would remove it ASAP. They STILL cannot make Mark remove the product.

Do you think this kind of person should be part of any organization which claims to help inventors? Maybe he only helps inventors when Reyland has no interest in their invention. If he thinks your invention will make money he will try to get involved, somehow.

By the looks of things, Reyland ONLY has his TwistCaps and Nova Grips left.

Pretty pathetic when you think about it.

HEY REYLAND! Why don`t you stop stalking, searching for and harrassing this inventor, just like you did Patrice and do what`s required of you. REMOVE her product from your company website!

Does Reyland Enjoy Attacking Women?

Other than his possible disrespect for women, we’re wondering why Mark Reyland of the UIA would set out to bash another female owned business, so we went to see if we could find the issue THIS time. Here’s the site ran by some very successful women and it appears to be growing. Why wouldn’t we all cheer them on?  www.womentorz.com
We see Stephen’s new book and Invention Home’s website advertising on there. So what’s the problem? Does Mark want Womentorz to become a UIA member and they declined? We’re told this leads to this type of public bashing/ harrassment and bullying by Mark Reyland.

Is Mark angry they have Invention Home advertising on there when the owner of Invention Home is on the board of the UIA? Did he feel since they have a board member, they should give into him?
Does Mark have hurt feelings and feels the need to lash out?
Is Mark angry Stephen’s new book it on their site because Mark has personal jealousy problems with Stephen? It’s no secret in the inventing community this has always been the case and Reyland doesn’t like Stephen’s informative site for inventors. It’s all free information and contacts here at www.inventornotes.com but Mark isn't listed as an expert.

Is Mark angry Womentorz won’t feature him as some sort of expert and advertise his UIA “blog of anger” which nobody appears to have interest in reading?
Mark Reyland always appears angry at someone or bashing someone’s business publicly, either under his UIA title or some fictional character he creates and then spends more hours than the week holds in public forums and sending emails trying to destroy businesses, inventors' products and/or individuals.  We've heard he's the king of accounts when leaving complaints on sites about inventors' products and especially had it out for EN at one point.

Mark’s quoted in his blog of anger, that he was contacted to review the value offered on the Womentorz site.

Our opinion? Nobody asked him his opinion; maybe he just needed a way to start off his bashing against another woman owned company. If he didn’t know about Womentorz for the past couple of years, then we suggest he doesn’t know the female inventing community at all like he claims but the truth is probably more that he felt thrown aside or ignored by them when he wants to be part of their growth and make them UIA approved. Maybe the claims made about him hating strong women holds some truth to it?

The other quote from Mark Reyland’s UIA blog of anger we find interesting is him calling down members of forums and insulting them. Calling people lonely and needing a false identity to hide behind.
He also insists most information found on inventing is wrong or even damaging when we have no evidence he’s even an inventor himself! How does he teach something we have no evidence of him ever doing himself?
BUT

Since we’re writing about identities, when he was appearing as Johnny Gee on Edison Nation with the 20-something male model avatar, was this the way he identified himself in his world? And here we just thought it was him conning people to get his own way and wanting to chat to a female inventor he couldn’t seem to leave alone. This begs the question, Is Mark Reyland lonely and needing to break the silence of his own existence? After all, he did write that in his UIA blog of anger.

We say to Womentorz. Don't be surprised if new members begin coming forward and asking why you are not UIA approved or that you should have Mark Reyland as an expert on your site. One may even be name, Jenny Gee!

Damage Control or Sinking Ship!

Looks like Troy Robison has been digging again and come up with new information on Mark Reyland. How long has Reyland been posting in forums and why did the UIA board not find any of this stuff?

One thing's for sure, Mark Reyland, executive director of the United Inventor's Association (UIA USA) appears to be completely losing it in this public forum! A sinking captain ready to drag the entire UIA ship down with him? We wouldn't exactly call it damage control and no kidding why the UIA UK would cut all ties with the UIA USA and even change their name so there's no mistake with affliliation! What real business CEO would even want to be attached to this guy?

Looks like the UIA board members may not be able to contain their liability, Mark Reyland. Don't be surprised when you don't see UIA memberships renewed and board members leave. WOW!

http://inventorspotforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=4838&p=30413#p30413

As long as Reyland is in a non- profit organization, position of public trust and continues to con people by stating all things said about him, which includes documentations of proof, is a lie; anyone is well within their legal right to expose or publicly question such a conman. Mark Reyland needs to admit the truth, face the consequenses and then let the UIA and inventors decide if they trust him. Reyland has no stalking case and he knows it.

If you have something a conman feels is worth getting, you are at risk!

Those who know Reyland report this personality to every sentance in this article...
The perverse twist to this theme is that the psychopathic personality may take pleasure in “psychoanalysing” his victims, and casting them as crazy, obsessive and even delusional (and reinforcing his own power as the dominant “rational” figure in the relationship).

The article is a good read and will help protect you from personalities like Reyland's.
 http://cyberpaths.blogspot.com/2011/07/trolling-internet-for-prey-cyberpaths.html

Although Reyland claims to have not "taken" a penny from inventors, he apparently has no problem manipulating inventors to spend their money in a way which will line his pockets in the end. The following link shows he has no problem taking from others, although we're sure he claims the courts are lying. We also see his apparent disregard for the law here by ignoring legal calls to appear.

No wonder he has no problems stalking and terrorizing people; being in trouble with the law is a familiar face to Reyland. We know now why his previous business went belly up. Strange how it wasn't an inventing business yet he's been in this industry for how many "claimed" years?

This Was All Requested By Reyland
We’ve all heard Mark Reyland go on and on and on...and on about him being the victim of stalking. Anyone who knows Mark is probably having a good chuckle right about now. That’s just not how most of us see it and he knows it. His latest post might give indication he’s feeling a little heat and acting out, again.  Remember in one post he asks for people to come forward with proof.

If you have information involving me where you can show that I have scammed an inventor PLEASE let’s hear it – otherwise quit insinuating things you clearly know nothing about.

They’re coming forward by his request, so what’s the problem?

All we’re witnessing how  Mark is stalking people to obtain their photos for posting libel accusations with nothing to back it up.  This isn’t a victim; this is a true cyber- stalker and cyber-bully by every definition. Don’t you wonder why he uses Troy’s DUI picture? While most people are calling it a low blow, what it clearly shows is Reyland having the ability/ personality to hurt peoples’ families.

By the way, we inquired further into the DUI photo and found Troy was never actually charged with impaired driving. However, Mark WAS found guilty in the Fairfield Ohio courts for avoiding paying people money he owed them. They weren’t inventors but it again shows his character.

We’ve been assured that nobody has sent any emails to any of his family and tend to believe them over Mark considering his past.

Usually cyber bullies and stalkers like to remain anonymous. We see Mark doesn’t mind showing everybody exactly what he is. This does reflect badly on the UIA for allowing him to use them to hide behind.

Our offer still stands if any UIA board members want to come forward and stand behind Mark.

Some report he has a God like image of himself !

Posted on Sept 8-2011. Mark Reyland of the UIA comes out from behind his title to add more lies and fraud to public inventing forums. Many are talking about his apparent God Complex which is all part of the same thing shown in the following informational link .

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001930/

This post may actually show a textbook example of a typical narcissistic personality. Is it possible the knowledge he's gained over the years about his own mental illness is the reason he likes to claim everyone who has ever crossed him has one?

I’m sorry Greg – have we met? Have we ever spoken? I don’t think we have actually, so it’s amazing how you could feel okay about using me as the butt of a joke.
And for the record, “Chappy” we have never met or spoken either – however you appear to have a strong dislike for me. How would you have formed that opinion about my character having never met or spoken to me?
You see, I work about 70 hours a week making sure people like you have the opportunities to learn and to commercialize your ideas. I’m away from my family 150 days a year in meetings with government officials and industry leaders attempting to get them to understand the impact of predatory practices and the lack of resources have on our industry. Trying to get people to understand why supporting innovation at all levels is so important.
And when I’m not doing that I’m at an inventor club answering questions and making sure individual inventors understand that there are a lot of really good people working hard for them, and although they may feel like it sometimes – they are not alone on this journey.
You see Greg, and Chappy – people who have met me, people who do know me – know that about me. They don’t depend on what others say, they find out for themselves before they publically trash a man they have never met

There’s another post in this thread showing what this typical personality does when they cannot threaten their way into stopping a person from confronting them about their wrong doings. They switch tactics and try gaining sympathy as a victim. In other words, they’ll try anything and  do everything to get what they want and need. Admiration from some and revenge on others at any cost.

A leopard doesn’t change his spots, he just gets a better tailor. Bernie Maddof went from Spots to Stripes after he got caught. At the end of the day he is still the same con-man.
How many people trusted Bernie, he was in business meetings with Government Officials and Industry Leaders Daily across the "Globe" also. Look how many people he took advantage of !
