I have a patent...big deal

Not a day goes by I don't meet an inventor who tells me about their patent. Really, on airplanes, in meetings, presentations, even walking down the street. Thousands of them a year want to talk about the great patent they received on an invention they will never commercialize.

It has been said that an uncommercialized invention is a hobby, and a patented uncommercialied invention is an expensive hobby.

Why do these kind, hope filled inventors always want to go off and get a patent before they have a plan for making money back on their investment? It's simple economics isn't it? Doesn't it revolve around the principles of risk and return like any other investment?

The answer is yes, inventing is an exercise in risk and return just like any other commercial function that requires the exchange of currency. Simple - You do things in the process that will reduce your risk while maximizing your return.

So we get a patent, logically reducing the risk our idea will be ripped off, but greatly increasing the financial risk as we lay thousands of dollars on the line.

The inventor doesn't often think about the monetary risks because they are so focused on the ingrained paranoia of the process. The fact is that risk is risk, and in most cases (not all) the risk of getting ripped off is tiny compared to the level of risk you create when you dump money into something you will never end up commercializing.

Reyland making more accounts for the UIA on Linkedin? No connections but has a load of love for Reyland.
After we saw him publicly threaten an inventor named Nancy, we knew he'd delete those posts. Not just that but emergency damage control was now needed. We read a letter which appeared to be written by Warren Tuttle ONLY to have one of the inventors show the original letter containing only HALF of what Mark Reyland posted. Did Reyland truly add the entire first half of this letter and pass it off as Warren Tuttle writing it? Praising how lucky the inventing industry is to have Mark? This is insane!

We're following along. The letter was posted then deleted by one UIA account then ANOTHER UIA account pops up out of nowhere posting this letter again!

Busted for adding words to an existing letter of Warren Tuttles? Well, we can write this isn't the first time Reyland has taken writing of others and changed it around to suit his needs so why would we be surprised?

We have a feeling nobody knows what's going on at the virtual office of the UIA including the board members!!

Now here is the one we suggest Mark Reyland may have added his own TWIST to. If this is true we wonder how Roger Brown feels about Mark now? How does Bonnie Kak ( oops we mean Kaake) feel about Mark now? How does Warren Tuttle feel being another victim of Mark's manipulation and lies?

As we reflect back on 2011 it’s apparent just how far we as an industry and we as members of the UIA have come in a very short time.

The UIA is an educational foundation, it’s a voice for the inventor community, and it’s a safe harbor for those on the journey of invention. But as important as those things are, they pale in comparison to what the UIA really is….because at its core, the UIA is You!

* in the UIA grew 234% in 2011…… You did that!

* We provided new programs for inventor clubs around the country to get better qualified speakers on a regular basis……You did that!

* UIA donated over $30,000.00 in direct support of inventor clubs around the country….You did that!

* added over 200 inventor exhibit spaces at 5 new tradeshows so inventors have direct access to the industries they work in…..You did that!

* 2011 saw the end of paid inventor education at the UIA. We finished the infrastructure to support 100% FREE inventor education programs for the inventor community……You did that!

* added new dedicated staff members and dozens of volunteers to ensure the growth of services and support continues well past 2012….. You did that!

* support from the industry service providers dramatically increased as their membership in the UIA grew by 85% ……You did that!

* UIA staff was able to provide over 8000 hours of educational outreach directly to the inventor community….You did that!

As we take a moment to think about the impact these accomplishments have had on individual inventors - We can’t help but also think about what they mean to our home towns, the states we live in, and our country as UIA educated innovators and inventors help forge the path to more jobs and a full economic recovery.

UIA Fraudulent Credentials’ of Mark Reyland

Let see what Warren Tuttle and the UIA Board have to say about the email below by John Young .

Hello,

I'm writing you in regards to your current director or the UIA, Mark Reyland's credentials and ethic's.

A few months ago I saw a story about Mr. Reyland adding his name to a clients PPA without her prior knowledge.

This is not the reason as to why I contacting you today, but by researching that accusation, it lead me to informing you today.

Mr. Reyland dose not have the proof of his claims that he post on your UIA blog and website as to his credentials.

I posted a public request on linked in inventors groups to make these claims of his expertise, credential's, successful patented products, patent #s, 5 PPA's, current and past products generating more in revenue than the cost to get to market, his muti million dollar producing 3 -D wraps,etc available for public confirmation.

His only reply was accusation that I am stalking him and am being investigated by law enforcement.

I have done the research as to his credential's claims, and I found that he absolutely dose not have any of these.

The USPTO only has him listed for 1 abandon PPA for his multi million dollar 3- D wraps.

None of his products are on the market, nothing has been brought to market successfully for his past clients,no magazines and trade journal articles, nothing he claims is there or has been there.

He obviously knows that I am now aware of this and wont answer to the public to defend them.

He has scammed your organization in to believing him and that shows that your organization the UIA did not verify his claims before you hired him for his current position. If you did investigate his claims you would have known that he is not a successful inventor, successful product agent, expert, guru, Mogul, and has no business making himself appear to be to the public, endorsed by your organization the UIA.

He is running free sharing unsuccessful advice, not expert advise as your organization endorses. He has freedom to give unearned advise on your UIA blog and website. His latest post congratulates Davidson submission company on their " cool place to work " and saying that Davidson " is an inventor that wheels never stop turning " also, " in an industry where its easy to throw rocks" this would lead a new or impressionable inventor to believing that Davidson has been unjustly accused and is a good resource for inventors.

Davidson invention submission company is the poster company for the inventors act passed by congress, and if their 60 million dollar loss in a court battle isn't enough to say beware of this company, why would the UIA appear to be sympathetic with them and publicly congratulate them by " building a really cool place' with funds that were taken from victims, not only the funds, the dreams they crushed, the embarrassment, the thoughts that the invention. industry is all a scam.

Another comment on your new UIA group on linked In is, " they would have been better off if they had been screwed by one of these invention submission companies ". I don't know how the UIA views it but, its better to have tried on your own and have a garage full of your product and failed, than have some company rip you off and have nothing but shame.

His advice is both outrageous and damaging. His credential's are fraudulent, he is no successful inventor, he is no successful marketer.

So I ask you what are you going to do about it, what are you going to do to protect the inventor.

These are my suggestions:

An immediate suspension pending investigation of his credential claims.

A ban from posting or commenting on behalf of the UIA, pending an investigation.

A public disclosure of your findings.

If you find my claims to be true, which you will if you investigate.

The UIA should publicly apologize for allowing this to happen, and apologize to the "STALKERS " that are posted on the UIA blog, for having the courage to try and inform everyone of their findings before I got involved.

A promise to fully investigate anyone applying for a UIA position.

We need to clean up this industry and it has to start at your door step.

This email will be publicly posted on linked in inventors groups for all to see, because it effects all of us.

And your response will be posted as well.

Will the United Inventors Association Vote in ANOTHER CONMAN to replace Warren Tuttle?

United Inventors Association’s President Warren Tuttle will be leaving his position soon. All votes for his President’s position had to be in by November 15^th   2011. Were wondering if the UIA Members will vote in someone that has a “REAL NON MADE UP RESUME” this time around.

It’s was pretty obvious the UIA Board Members didn’t due the Proper Due Diligence on Mark Reyland’s Resume/Background he claims to have. 

We find it interesting the votes need to be emailed in PDF format to admin@uiausa.org.  Mark Reyland will be getting the votes since he is the administrator & Executive Director. Doesn’t that mean he can delete votes without anyone knowing about it?  Will the person voted in have a Previous relationship with Reyland ?

Reyland’s buddy Inventor Roger Brown stated on one of the LinkedIn groups he would not be accepting the position. Maybe Gizmo held his feet to the fire forcing him to re-think things just in case he was offered the position.  Let’s see if Kenny Durham from Innovators Warehouse is in the running for the position. He is another one of Reyland’s buddy’s.

Whoever is voted in as the UIA President will hopefully look at all the info that has been presented that clearly proves Mark Reyland is a Liar and CONMAN.

The New UIA President will have his/her feet held to the fire to investigate Reyland.

BUSTED! AGAIN!

We’ve read the recent blog post where Mark names and shows pictures of stalkers (his words, not ours) and claims they go after his family. Not only did we not believe this at the time but we’ve JUST received  an email containing evidence Mark is the one doing this to the very people he claims is stalking him!

On Oct.18 2011 An email was sent to one of these victim's spouse’s place of employment naming the employee and stating their spouse is a stalker and including a link to Mark Reyland’s blog where he rants about them being so. The weird thing was this person who sent the email also stole Troy Robison’s identity to create an fictional email account to send it with! Does this get crazier? Yes it does. The victim forwarded the email to Warren Tuttle, President of the UIA USA who then forwarded it to Mark Reyland asking if he had anything to do with it. Of course, he said “no” and proceeded to email the victim stating the FBI and police were hunting them down for stalking him. Thank My American stars the FBI takes time away from National security to chase down inventors who are upsetting Mark Reyland.

We guess Mark didn’t bank on what happened next.


Analytics (see below)Can you guess who it is? He's one of the only people who knew this spouse’s name and what they did for a living. He landed on the website after searching “spouse name, residence”.

Once on the spouse’s company website, he searched through the pages to gather company contact information. Then an email was sent through the company contact form page using Troy Robison's name. Information has been obtained and the real stalking victim is now looking into legal options against the UIA if they do not do something about executive director, Mark Reyland. All we can say now is WOW! Looks like Reyland continues to hurt people and make lives hell everywhere he goes!  

We’ve read where Troy Robison has asked for proof from Reyland, showing he has sent such emails to Mark's family before but Reyland has none because it never happened and looking at Mark's long history of lies and deceit, we expect him to continue with his criminal activites. This particular inventor has the proof to show Mark Reyland is by every sense of the word a cyber Stalker!

Please remember why Reyland is stalking these inventors and read what he is so desparately trying to shift the attention from here   http://adealwithmarkreyland.blogspot.com/ and we see no evidence that anyone is trying to take down the UIA. If you click to the beginning of this blog, you'll see where Mark was the one actually attempting to take down the UIA. Who knows, maybe he still is by stalking and committing crimes with the UIA letter head attached to his emails.

One thing we do know for sure is that Mark is losing it by posting in public forums along with his friend, inventor Roger Brown. This by no means is a form of damage control for the United Inventors Association. It's more as though he has decided, if he has to go down, he's dragging the entire UIA with him!
He's be better off publicly addressing the allegations against him than simply trying to scream louder.

Any non- profit organization has the following.Scrutiny by the public: Another disadvantage is public scrutiny. Because a nonprofit organization is dedicated to the public, your finances are open to public inspection. This means that the public can obtain copies of your tax returns and find out your salaries and other expenditures.

We’ve all heard Mark Reyland go on and on and on...and on about him being the victim of stalking. Anyone who knows Mark is probably having a good chuckle right about now. That’s just not how most of us see it and he knows it. His latest post might give indication he’s feeling a little heat and acting out, again.  Remember in one post he asks for people to come forward with proof.

They’re coming forward by his request, so what’s the problem?

All we’re witnessing how  Mark is stalking people to obtain their photos for posting libel accusations with nothing to back it up.  This isn’t a victim; this is a true cyber- stalker and cyber-bully by every definition. Don’t you wonder why he uses Troy’s DUI picture? While most people are calling it a low blow, what it clearly shows is Reyland having the ability/ personality to hurt peoples’ families. 

By the way, we inquired further into the DUI photo and found Troy was never actually charged with impaired driving. However, Mark WAS found guilty in the Fairfield Ohio courts for avoiding paying people money he owed them. They weren’t inventors but it again shows his character.

We’ve been assured that nobody has sent any emails to any of his family and tend to believe them over Mark considering his past.

Usually cyber bullies and stalkers like to remain anonymous. We see Mark doesn’t mind showing everybody exactly what he is. This does reflect badly on the UIA for allowing him to use them to hide behind.

Our offer still stands if any UIA board members want to come forward and stand behind Mark.

Have you read the latest rant in Mark Reyland’s angry blog? People report to only read what he writes for the same reason they can’t help themselves when at the grocery checkout reading the covers of trash magazines. Part boredom part entertainment.

We’ll use first names only because we don’t want Reyland to get the attention he so badly seeks and feels he deserves.

3. He insulted Roger and Jim’s licensing CD set. Yet he calls Roger his good friend.

We did read another blog post last week where he really goes after Edison Nation, although he doesn't name them, for selling hope to inventors for $20.00. Rather sad considering Louis Foreman owns the company and is a very active part of the UIA USA. Is Reyland possibly so jealous from the success of others?

 

Another place in his recent post, Mark Reyland uses the term ‘real professionals’ in the industry YET the way he attacks inventors, people he’s ripped off, companies, ex friends, people he doesn’t know, anything and everything that does NOT involve him, we clearly see who is NOT the professional.

In March 2011, the United Innovation Association UK (UIAUK) was invited by the United Inventors Association of America (UIAUSA) to work collaboratively under a Memorandum of Agreement(MOA).

We accepted, in the belief that such a partnership would benefit the members of both organisations. We agreed to use similar logos & names and to share resources whilst in all other respects to remain independent of one another.

We entered into the relationship with UIAUSA in good faith. However recent issues arising necessitated that we reconsider our position.

After careful consideration we have taken the decision to withdraw from the MOA with immediate effect and to have no further dealings with the UIAUSA.

As such this decision requires that we change our name and branding and all associated collateral such as URL and email addresses.

These changes will be completed within two weeks.

All services provided to all members and our support of them will remain unaffected.

Since childhood – Mr. Reyland has successfully traversed the waters of Entrepreneurship, Inventing, and Product Development many times.
Having served many years with the National Security Agency- as both an intelligence agent and executive in charge of new program development, Mr. Reyland applied this unique skill-set over the years to his work as a successful inventor.

Mr. Reyland’s long list of accomplishments include Director of Classified Technology Development for a fortune 500 company, Technology and Product Inventor with 5 patents under application, and currently Founder and CEO of the following companies: Innovative Brand Technologies Inc., Obvious Ideas LLC, and The Tank LLC. Although Mr. Reyland does do some fee based consulting, most evenings you’ll find him on the phone mentoring young inventors through the process of developing their dream.

An avid student of the process - Mr. Reyland, is notably one of few professionals in the inventing industry who routinely takes responsibility for the form, function, and market viability of an idea. Using a hands-on approach to the entire development and distribution process, and ultimately making certain every consumer who purchases his product is getting exactly what they hope for and more!

Looking high and low we STILL can’t find any inventions anywhere he claims to have and his past doesn’t make sense. The security guard profile, being in the military and saving all from talk breakdowns while working as the “National Security Agency liaison to the Korean government” and collecting top secret data with his top secret data collecting degree in hand ( from the University in Washington?). Then he was a CEO of an anonymous fortune 500 company, CEO of his many companies, speaking all over the country, the trade journals, the forums, all of the inventions on retail shelves that nobody can find, the free help to inventors nightly for hours, building companies and let’s not forget all those years in university obtaining multiple degrees and special secret stuff nobody can get information on (guess it’s a secret) and now he works for a non profit group out of his basement telling inventors if they have a good product because of his opinion when it looks like he can’t even invent (no proof he’s an inventor)a product of his own that people want?

or is he possibly showing signs of dementia and all of this may just be a deluded fantasy of who he wishes he was or believes he is?

In communications with the University of Cincinnati we’re informed there’s no degree in Marketing and Advertising even though Mark claims to hold one. There are a couple of marketing degree types offered by the business college there but we question if he even has any degree in Marketing considering he doesn’t know the title of his own degree. I know the title of mine.

Hey Warren Tuttle & the UIA Board Members,    Wake up! Inventors want to know why con-man Mark Reyland still sits with the UIA!  Don’t you think it’s time to shut this con-man down and protect inventors.

When we first started looking at this bio (below), we found a high school in Texas and knowing Mark spent time there in his teen years we thought maybe it was his high school. Did he copy this man’s bio word for word and not realize he forgot to remove his name?
